A LEGACY
Grieving Hearts was founded in loving memory of Christopher Goulart 1979- 2023. Our mission is to provide support to individuals on their own grief journey to carry on Christopher's legacy of always helping others.
Christopher was passionate about innovation in health care and specialized for many years in women's health. He created patents and won awards for his brilliance and still craved more.
He loved traveling, especially to Disney World. He was warm, caring, and hysterically funny. Christopher made friends wherever he went and was so proud to be a father of two beautiful children.
To honor a man who was loved by so many we want to support as many people as we can.

LAUREN SANFORD
Christopher was my fiancé and best friend. I lost him unexpectedly while we were planning our future. We had so many hopes and dreams that shattered in the blink of an eye. I had no idea how I was going to move forward in life but I was determined to find a way to honor the amazing man he was.
As I started my own grief journey I researched resources for support and I found many support groups, but I needed something different. Any holistic or creative ways to express my grief that excited me were not local. This was the beginning of my idea to start a nonprofit.
With my background as a licensed mental health counselor I felt excited about helping other people on their grief journey. This felt like the perfect platform to continue Christopher's legacy of changing peoples lives. I am forever grateful for the laughs and love that we shared.
